Went to BCF at Cannon Hill today and picked up a Berkly dropshot 8-10kg, 1 pce, 7"6 spin rod for $69.00 marked down for $129.00 (Must be a few specials going).

Going to use it for throwing 1/4 and 3/8 off the beach into holes and land-based stuff like that, bit more grunt that you normal 6-12lb.

Also seen the Gary Howard Envy 2-5kg, very nice plastic rod indeed, might go and put $20.00 down on it tomorrow, perfect estuary all rounder, very nice feel.

Not sure if it was on special, was going for about $160.00.
I have 1-3kg envy (tough little rod) and the 2-5 kg has a much nicer action for plastic work IMO, perfect for flathead, cod and bream.
The Envy range has a great balanced feel in the hand.

Cheers

EDIT: Went down and put $40.00 on an GH Envy 2-5 kg today, could not resist.
Great plastics estuary rod, can't go wrong, they handle a good size fish.

Hmmm, I might just have to mosey on round there MRD, and see if they've got any left.

The Capalaba store is closer, but they don't seem to know too much about anything there, especially when it comes to what's on special.

I'd better check the shed first, just in case i've already got one. I remember I picked up a Berkley Dropshot at the Boaties market, but I'd better check first. Although, it wouldn't hurt to have a couple.

You never know, there might be other shiny stuff on special there as well.

Do you actually go fishing TOL? ::)- I have never seen you place a report or talk about fishing but you seem to buy heaps of gear. Tackle junkie hey.

Most of my fishing is done down at Iluka, on the river, the beaches and the headlands. Always some people around there, so that if I get lost and can't remember who I am or where I came from, there's generally somebody to help.

Tackle? Yes, I'm interested in tackle. I caught the disease from Aigutso. It's all his fault.

I have posted reports, but I'm not gifted like some people are when putting up a report, so I don't bother. I like reading other peoples' though.

PS: There's a Berkley Dropshot 7-9 kg one piece 7'3" spinning rod in the shed. Think I'll leave it at that.

Yep Mike,

Probably wouldn't hurt to go for a little drive tomorrow. Too late now though.

Sat around a specialist's rooms for about 90 minutes this afternoon. Why are they always running late? Didn't see Judge Judy as a result.

Nah Mike, gave it a miss. Couldn't get motivated yesterday. Just did a bit of mowing late yesterday afternoon, that's all.

Jeez Chop, that must have been a few years ago now. All we got were sharks from memory. Remember Finga wading beside the boat when those sharks were about 20 metres away?
