Do yourself a favour. Come up this way and go with Smithy out of Mooloolaba. Search his posts. He has many satisfied customers on this site.

Bluefin59,

Has Gavin been out to the seamounts lately? Nice blue eye or two would not go astray.

If youre look at heading out of Manly on the bayside then I agree with Lethal098 Goodo runs a great day and its only 5 people or there is John Palermo out of Manly too..... There is also Frenzy Charters but dont know how he goes, he just moved up from the Goldie.... As for Goldie charters definitely go with a recommendation as there are some cowboys down there and they dont care too much about how you do as they focus on the non-repeat tourist market.

In the past 12 months i've been out on 2 1/2 day trips with Wahoo Charters & Out There Charters, both launch from Mariners Cove.
Now, this is only my experience however I wasn't too pleased with Wahoo as not only it was overcrowded I didn't even have a rod in my hand for the 1 1/2+ hours. We also didn't catch anything (apart from jigging)... but that's fishing, right?
Out There Charters was certainly the better of the 2, with a BBQ breakfast, more room and a rod in my hand when reef fishing. The downside IMO was that when trawling it was the same 2 people always reeling in the fish. There were teens (and newbies) on board who would have loved to wind in a tuna or mahi mahi, only to have the 2 older guys take charge.

I often get out on the water so it's not a big deal for me, just thought i'd share my recent experiences.
