Spent a couple very enjoyable hours chasing whiting today. Fished the last four hours of the run-up. First few hours were good. Though I had to keep moving to find fish. Couple here - couple there etc. Last hour the wind got up and the fish went off the bite. Still managed a nice feed though. All caught on yabbies.

I was up there too gunna, with much the same result. Got a few quality whiting up to 36cm but never any numbers in one spot. Had a bit of fun with a few long toms as well, but only managed three keeper sandies. The weed was fairly bad up there yesterday as well.

Yep - weed was bad in places. Aren't there some bloody big rays too. And I think Coochin is right - gunna be a cracka whiting season.

Nice work Pete, looks like a bit of quality there and so sweet to eat!
Have you tried paternoster rigs to try and avoid the weed, its the only way you can fish the bay in places.
Cheers,
Matt
