Hey boys heading upto fraser at xmas for a few days off to relax and have a fish and many many beers. Normally go up september chasing tailor but since they wont be on off the beach what else does everyone chase up there? I know you got your standards whiting, dart, flatty, bream in the surf and jew, but what about off indian head or middle rock? Anyone spin or throw poppers for trevally or any other sport fish? Mackeral? anyway look forward to your reports and tips keen to see what everyone catches up there. Oh and im not bringing a boat so purely land based. cheers boys :)

Macks are a distinct possiblity off the rocky headlands, as are kings, cobes, tuna and all sorts of critters at the base of the rocks where the deeper water meets the vertical walls, try jigging plastics at the base of the rocks if you get a calm day and see if you can pull any surprises, I have seen photos of mangrove jack to 5kg, cod, trevally etc. Also don't be afraid to try and target a tailor early morning or late arvo in December as generally the stragglers that are still hanging around at this time are quality fish. BTW Middle rock is signposted as a marine reserve and you cannot fish there, so you will be locked in to just Indian Head or Waddy Point.
