While we are on the toppic, what is better to use for big GT's braid or mono? I just got a new reel (Saragosa18) on the w/e and spooled it with 80lb braid. Will be a bit of a heavy duty allrounder; trolling for yids & whoo, bottom bashing for big Reds (hopefully) and popping for GT's (also hopefully). See how I go...

Id have to say braid for sure, Specially if your trying to throw surface lures.

Definately braid for the bigger ones. I use 80lb on an old Stella 10000.

Hi Waterbouy, I am looking at the same reel, what sort of rod are you matching it with?

Cheers Andrew

I have paired it witha wilson live fibre, which should be sweet, until I can afford a new egrell BeaR fishin rod to match. Went to a fishing sale last w/e and bought two new reels (I couldn't really afford, but couldn't afford not to at the prices I paid) Can't wait to hit the water and try em out!
