View Full Version : Rods to suit 650 alveys for the boat - trolling and bottom bashing
To get the best versatility out of the gear I've already got I'd like to get some rods to use my 650 series alvey's on in the boat. I've currently got 8kg on them for off the beach and am unlikely to change much. I am aware of the alvey boat rods that suit but was also interested in chasing other options. Any suggestions?
Cheers

What about a couple of Penn rods about 6'6" to 7' around the 6-10 kg range?
They seem to be a pretty good no frills workhorse and are pretty cheap too.
Probably depends on what you're going to target too.
Have you got the 650 A's or the 650 C's ?
TOL
Thanks mate.
Will be using a 650 C5 and a 650 BE1 rockhopper, so both drag reels. Bottom bashing for reefies and trolling and floating for macs.
Cheers
