Anybody bought anything from Silaach

I am looking at buying a couple of stella reels. These guys seem to have some real keen pricing but they don't accept Paypal for payment. Just wondering if anybody has purchased any gear from them.

Just looked at the website. I would be concerned!! They have both Shimano and Daiwa top of the line stuff at 50% of normal retail pricing. These manufacturers dont sell their products at these prices. They dont take PayPal, there are no testimonials on the website. Very basic website, you could set that up in a couple of hours. No country of origin mentioned on the website (Big alarm bells), NO CONTACT DETAILS AT ALL - HUGE ALARM BELLS.

My guess is a SCAM BASED WEBSITE and you will do your dollars if you purchase from them. If it is too good to be true, then it is!! (Especially with the brands you mentioned!!)

Chances are these reel are sold without warranty.

I bought a Shimano Fireblood from a similar kind of site in Singapore for $300.00 while they were flogging them here for $600.00.

Still have the reel, very nice.

Hard to say... the website does lack a bit, though they do have poor english.

They have a few reels for $0.00 and $25 postage.. Reels advertised for $0.00 are $300+ here. I am tempted to buy 295 of them for $25 postage ;)

Almost certainly a scam site, IMO. The cheapest legitimate prices I can find for Shimano and Daiwa reels are mostly on ebay stores, like ReelsMart and Reelseller (I've bought from both). If you take a look at these stores, you'll see some awesome deals, but nothing like what this "Silaach" site is offering.

I'd say they don't accept Paypal for a reason. Paypal payments can be easily reversed. Chances are, they'd also have some fun with your credit card.

I googled "Silaach" and found nothing, other than the pages of their site and this thread.

Their website says they are in South East Asia.
Going on those prices it has to be a scam.

Hmm interesting, They only accept direct deposit, they have only had 38 orders so far, and they apparently have over 400 of each reel in stock, the numbers don't add up, I would be would not be putting my hand up to try them out.

Mate definitely be giving that sucker a miss...btw have you had a look at the Japanese on-line retailers, or even the US given our high dollar.
Personally for the $ you are talking I would want Paypal and parcel tracking/insurance.

Thanks everyone for your great investigative work. The prices did appear to be to good to be true, and I was concerned it was a scam site. I will be looking elsewhere for a good deal.

Also if you come across an import/trade site called ''Alibaba'', BEWARE it is rife with scammers.

I joined up for a look after see cheap bulk fishing gear.
When I joined the site information forum to see how it was done; there was all these people saying "I sent $2000.00 to such and such and have heard nothing" or "Such and such has closed account and I sent him $3000.00".

I guess one thing to really look out for is the fact that once your money is overseas, and in the sellers hands, if it is a sting there is sweet FA you can do about it.
