On the 16th and 17th of August I went down to the Clarence River in NSW to do a weekends fishing (Landbased). First me and my grandad went to a secret spot where we caught 3 bream (one legal one caught by my brother aaargh but it was released) and 1 legal sized flathead caught by me ( this was the first fish i had caught myself and then eaten). The next day we went to Browns Rocks but it was raining and windy and we caught zilch, so we decided to go back to the secret spot and my grandad caught another legal flathead which was also eaten. All in all a average weekend, thought i would just let you guys know.
Thanks

Yeah thats what my grandad said as well but it was so cold and windy and it started pouring down for a little while so we had to sit in the car and wait and after that we decided to go back to the secret spot.

Some great fish mate. I've pulled some snodger bream off that wharf you're on. The big concrete one just before it can be a bugger to fish sometimes but if you fish right below you at your feet some big bream and flathead sit under the bait schools.

Yeah caught a few bream and flathead, my grandad told me that you dont have to cast out very far, (but i didn't believe him!) and guess what? he caught the first bream, so with about 20mins left before we were going to leave a baited a fresh prawn and cast out about 7-10 metres and let it drift for a few mins than jigged it a few times and let it drop and then bang!! the rod tip was bending like crazy and the result was a 48cm flattie.

looks a bit overcast but a few nice catches is better than nothing and make it worth it.

The first day it was overcast but not really that cold but it was windy, but at the start of the second day it was raining and very cold but in the afternoon the sun came out but it was still pretty cold.
