Took my 12 year old to a have a quick flick at mud before the the wind got up but perhaps we should have got up a bit earlier. After about an hour and only one three inch trumpeter to crow over the decision to give the river a shot was made.
On our way back we saw some birds working and thinking they might be tailor smashing the bait we decided to throw some slugs. Using my 6 pound gear and a 15 gram halco the first cast was perfect and I was on. However these were not tailor and once the fish just about spooled me in ten seconds I locked the drag and he was gone.
After chasing for a little longer we were on again with only 10 pound. This time we followed it and after about 15 minutes a nice mac tuna was boated. Couple of pics and he was off to terrorise the bait.
We stopped off at boggy and scored a nice tailor then home.
Ordinary conditions but some fun fishing.

We were at NE of Mud and your not wrong with the ordinary condition. Put up with it though until lunch but did not get a touch!
There were 5-6 other boats aswell but did not see anything reel in.

I also scored a 8kg Mac tuna on the way back after chasing the school of birds, cheese those little brutes give good run on 8lb gear which meant for taylor!!!

Your boy would have been wrap too.

Your not wrong, he wanted to go out today which looks worse than yesterday. The fight was great and it is a real shame they are not good eating. Then again if they were there probably would not be as many.
