buying new boat for dam fishing

I am at the point of starting to fish Wivenhoe dam. I want to drag the trouble and strife out camping and fishing;D. She is putting up a lot of resistance but inch by inch am dragging her to accept it.
I had considered a canoe but have been thinking about a punt between 3-3.7m long. I have thought about a Tinoo 3.7 or maybe a John Boat around 3m.
I have just bought a 54lb watersnake sw electric outboard. Yet to buy the battery. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I should be looking at and maybe some great pricing in boat , battery and maybe a battery holder?
I was thinking about camping and fishing around Logan Camp. I am hoping to make a small dent in redclaw population and maybe a yellow belly or bass. Any suggestions with those thoughts? I usually have Tues and Weds off.

Mark,
A couple of things if you are going to fish Big W.
I would carry another battery as well as if you have a battery failure you need backup.
Wivenhoe is a big big dam and you could very easily get into a lot of trouble without that backup.
This advice comes from someone who has spent a lot of hours out on Wivenhoe and has learnt from experience. I have never been in danger yet but I have experienced times when you take two steps forward and one backward when the wind really kicks in and it doesn't take long to wear the battery down under these circumstances especially if it is getting into the day and you have been out there for a while.

I would also suggest you get yourself a good sounder somewhere along the line as a lot of the time as this will help you to find your fish.

I would suggest the 3.7 option boat wise if there are going to be two of you fishing.
The 3 m option is getting very, very uncomfortable with two people especially if you are out there for any period of time.
