With all the reports and pics of jew being caught lately, I thought i might try some different methods to my plastic fishing. I usually fish for snapper and drift reef edges casting jerkbaits with a second plastic deadsticking out the back of the boat with the rod in a rod holder.

Yesterday i wanted to target Jewies, so I used a Salt water Assasin 4 inch paddletale (pink back with slver glitter sides). I know a lot of the Jew being caught in the Brisy river come from along the rock walls, so i fished one of the rocky outcrops, it was only 12 feet deep. I landed a small tailor around 30cm, released that and the next cast got smacked as i hopped the lure off the bottom, it pulled a bit of line and ran around the boat, i was thinking this is a good tailor and a Jew comes up;D.
Not a huge one but i have only ever caught 3 others all under 40cm:'(, this one went 60cm. Now i'm thinking i need to get down the river and try for a legal specimen.

Good start to the brissy jewies Marty, Another 200-300mm on them and they pull alright. Haven't pulled an undersized one from the brissy since the flood myself, must be where i'm fishing!:-? Ben

Thanks Blooey, this one was from Redcliffe. I'm hoping to get down the river this week end and have a go at them.
