Gday
headed up to gladstone with my dad to fish for 4 days, sat was wet and cold and a bit breezy . afetr setting up camp dad had a sleep and i went out in the rain, managed a nce flatty straight up and a few smaller ones, about 1pm dad gets up and joins me in the rain. we started trolling some fysshe timber lures around. not long after starting i hook a great healthy thready ;D a quick release and start the troll again, 20mtrs and on again to my first lil blue salmon 8-)
a quick release and start again, about 20 mtrs on the troll and i hook a solid fish, up jumpss a metre barra wooohooo a great fight on the light tcurve 2-5kg.
she swam off strong after a pic..
dad managed a lil bluey followed by a cod and flatty.
day 2 sun
better weather but still cloudy at times but sunny just as much.
dad decides to show me how the master gets tarpon and gets into them from the first drop. took a while for me to land one , i dropped 10 before i started landing them hahaha
managed a nice flatty on the blade as well. spent most the day having fun with tarpon.
day 3 mon
hit the calliope bund wall for a heap of cod and small finger mark, was good to tick a f/mm off my list as i scored my first. all so managed bream, moses, pike.
day 4 tues was just a quick fish before heading home, managed a bluey.
cheers

Great report and top pics Wes, That barra is a cracker on light gear, well done.

Geez your old man looks like a luremaker I met many years ago! I still have a few of his lures.

Cheers,

Matt

Mattcheers, are they cedar lures?? Eddy is his name and he dropped out of making them a while back now.. been trying to get him back into it as i have none of his left.. Ian Salmon from fysshe lures was responsible for the lure i used most of the time.. lil teemburra slim.. it caught 9 species for the trip..
