This is my 1st real play with my new Lowrance DSI unit and must say I'm impressed with the image of the Tiwi Pearl, I just go through a couple of different colours with the sounder stopped.
I was frustrated when I was looking at buying the unit that I couldn't find any footage like this on the net, so set about making sure it was there for anyone else who may be looking at buying a DSI unit.
See what you guys think.

Cheers Guys
Bubs...you'll enjoy the unit mate, it was a huge step up for me as I only ever had a B & W sounder and GPS.
So I bought the Lowrance Elite 5m GPS at the same time, Still trying to explain to the boss how I managed to save the money...lol.
Mate what a huge difference they make.
Chris....I too was blown away when I managed to get an image like the one in the video...
I wish Lowrance would throw some coin at me mate, because as I said in the post I couldn't find anything like that on the net when I was researching which unit to spend my hard earned on...Cheers for the comment mate.
Charlie... Tanglefoot does tend to cheat a bit when we're fishing together, wouldn't be past him to use divers...lol

Hi Oodies
I know this a bit of an old post however i have the same system and cant seem to fully understand what it is im looking at, i Run the HDS system next to my DSI and they have 2 different depths etc, also the HDS will show structure where the DSI does not, what i have assumed is that the HDS is a 2d image looking down on the object and the DSI is a 3d image looking at the true image, Is this correct? i was also looking at the DSI system over structure such a boulders and it did not show anything, is the khz a big factor in the river? what would you suggest, i split between the 400 and 800 and noticed the difference .
My main question is what settings are you running to show such a clear image? do you have the standard transducer?
thanks

Hey Lucas
Mate I don't have a lot of info for you I'm sorry, when I took that footage it was only my 3rd quick run on the bay to suss the unit out and although I have been on the water almost every weekend since that I have either been on a kayak or in Tanglefoots boat chasing Bass at Somerset, as I will be this weekend. Four weekends in a row, not a bad run of lucky hey. Lucas I don't know anything about the HDS unit as I have never run one, the different water depths is strange, maybe it does have something to do with the transducers???. I am running the standard out of the box transducer and as you can see from the footage I was running it at 800khz. Mate try to find yourself some real structure like a wreck and sit on it and just play with the unit, this is what I will be doing again next time I get my boat on the water.
P.S. I may take my boat to somerset this weekend, If so I will...(IF I CAN LEAVE THE BASS ALONE)..try to have a good play with the unit and see what else I can offer you, Would love to see it working in the dam.
Cheers
