View Full Version : The end of the line ... is 2048

This is a dvd i purchased. It took me ages to find where to buy it. Ezy dvd got it for me.
If you love fishing and maybe wondering where all the fish have gone, watch this dvd. Your stomach will turn and you will feel sic, but this documentry is showing us the inconvienient truth. It shows us many points, like the curupt governments and leaders of the world raping our most precious resource, car giant Mitsubishi stock piling the endangered blue fin tuna in massive freezers, what needs to be done, what you can do and mind blowing stats like the long lines of the world set enough lines to wrap around earth over 550 times per year and a date set which the oceans will be emptied of their once prolific fish stocks... 2048 if the current greedy fishing trends continue.
So get out there and catch a few nice fresh fish while they are still there, and will hopfully be in the future. Try not to fill your freezers! I feel there are too many 'pro' fisherman been too greedy. Hence here we are now.
I am extreamly passionate about our fragile oceans and want it to be here long into the future, not just to see my dads generation out. Im no greenie and sure many share my passion. I don't want to be catching slimy mackeral like they do over in England, especially after using them for bait like we do here.
I would strongly recomend this dvd ' the end of the line '. Here is a snipit to give you a taste or leave a bad taste in your mouth.

I actually put on this website when the screening and a Q and A on the doco was at the Dendy but it was moved by mod5 so nobody saw it. It would have been great if more were there to see the dodge, duck, dip, deflect and dodge that was done by the Greenpeace and Marine Conservation Queensland folk when a pertinent question was put to them. A good question.... answered by a dodge. Another good question answered with a duck, I am sure you get the pattern. Go and join one of their forums mate, I hear you get a free lettuce with every subscription

Please let me add that this doco was a purely Greenpeace motivated piece of anti fishing vitriole. I truly wish more took up my offer to come to the Q &A .... but you probably didnt see it.

I am only young and have noticed fishing stocks depleating in my ALL my fishing areas, in my short time. I choose not to turn a blind eye to it and am definately no greeny. Just love adventuring and finding new places to fish which is yet to be raped.

Waterbouy,
A big tick for your passion! I encourage you to use it wisely.
My first tip: if something is made by Greenpeace, ignore it.
Yes, there are issues with Fishing all over the World and much needs to be done to secure Fisheries for ongoing use by Professional and Recreational Users. If we can stay away from Alarmism/Politics, and use real Science to find ways forward, we will get far more sensible, and more effective outcomes.
Continue your research, but be careful of the source. Many who are vocal on this are interested in money and power, not the Fishery. Greenpeace is a perfect example.
As an aside, I love watching Doc Martin, a show about an odd Doctor in a village on the West Coast of England. The other day he was prepping a Slimey for cooking!
Cheers,
Tim

hey Waterbouy, not sure if you are in the right forum champs. Here it is about owning a Kevlacat, towing it with the biggest 4wd you can find, and making sure you bag out on fish where possible. Check out the other threads re over fishing, marine parks, fuel subsidies etc and you will see what i am talking about.

From the Observation Trumps Models Department:
Why thank you.
It appears you have just labelled the vast majority of Ausfishers as Rednecks. Or something similar - your intent is obvious. So I will ask the question:
What do you expect to achieve by being here?

Why thankyou barney!!! You pretty much summed me up. I think of you folk way down there in your Prius when I roar past in the V8 F Truck towing my big carbon causing, petrol guzzling floating fish killing machine (but not a kevlacat), whilst spewing diesel smoke out the exhaust and howing into a big ole beef and bacon burger.
Since you say that is the point of this website, and you are a member, surely I MUST be your hero!!
But I am just a man mate, just cos I rock doesn't mean I am made of stone. And I really value your input

i have nothing to add, but if you could post a link to the transcript of that meeting you are talking about that would be good. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

The End of the Line was premiered at the Dendy quite some time ago, there was Q and A with Genevieve Quirk for Greenpeace and some other tree hugger from the Marine Conservation Society. I very much doubt that there is any transcript, it was purely an event where they could all get together and cane everybody who was not like minded to their beliefs. Google "End of the Line Dendy Brisbane", you may find something.

Barney, May I suggest for you:

oh hell..here..you can find your own niche:

The true conservationists are those that actually get out on the water and into the bush..the rest just reside in their enclaves and recite endless jingoism aimed at the masses and hope they get some followers.

I think he is saying"PISS OFF BARNEY!!". It would appear you have the wrong site going by all of your posts to date. Just a shit stirrer who obviously does all of his fishing on the net. If I'm wrong post a fishing report instead of vitriol and rubbish. Sure you aren't Iceknight. He was a bit of a tosser as well. Oh and I agree with Pinhead...Piss off Barney!!

What's pissing me off most about this is how clear a demonstration it is of what I've said for a long time:
Whackos like Barney are giving all Environmentalists a bad name. The subversion of Environmentalism to achieve Political aims will in the long term be detrimental to the Environment. Indeed they already are, in many places.
And folks like Waterbouy who have genuine care and concern are on the front line of being subverted and damaged.

as you said you are young therefore I doubt you would have been around long enough to really notice any changes in fish stocks etc. Fish numbers vary over cycles of many years dependent on water quality and temps etc.
A lil piece of advice..always question what you may read and hear and take none of it as gospel without satisfying yourself that what you see is actually true. Look behind the movies or the written word and see who the writers are etc and who may have something to benefit from writing the item. Amazing what you may find out by just by doing that in your life.

Well lets just put it this way, I dont know very much at all about green peace, so should read up more about em on this site. But I'd be more than happy to have no commercial fisherman and everyone just had to catch their own seafood!

There has to be a balance, commercial fisherman should be able to take a sustainable amount, as determined by science, not them. We need to eat, and fish is part of that, but with the technology we have now fish dont have a chance.

What would fisherman do ?? get another freakin job. Do you have any idea how many skilled migrants Australia are bringing in every year. The big mining companies just held an expo in Canada because they have so many jobs that they cant fill.
