Hi all
been trying out my new kayak and want to try some Sps for the snaps.
Can anyone advise me the best technique for working them in reasonably shallow water, i fish off Redcliffe so in water say 3 - 6 Metres.
Any advice on the killer SP you use would be good as well. I already use SPs a lot for flatties etc from my boat up the passage, but would like to get tuned for the different fish and conditions.
Drift or anchor, how to work them etc
Thanks in advance

Are you saying 3 or 6 mtrs?

Fish 1/6 or 1/8th oz with a Gammakatsu 2/0 or 3/0 hook, usually TT make them with Gammy hooks.

If you dead stick I think a 3" shrimp in Gulp Banana prawn or new penny would be perfect to drag close to the bottom. If you want to work the plastic more, go for a 3 or 4" shad either in the moldy cheese or sardine colours. It depends on what they are feeding on, but small baitfish and 3" shads are a good match. In poor light the 4" nuke chook is an all time favourite.

i agree with scalem. Dead sticking works a treat. Try grub or paddle tail 3" - 4" gulps in either pumpkinseed or nuke chicken. Stealth gives best results around redcliffe without a doubt. After you suss out some areas, getting there before sun up will improve results. Good luck.
