Fished around Peel today. Had a late start and thought it might be done and dusted. First flick, small cod. Second flick a 40cm cod comes on board. My mate gets smashed and equals his PB for the bay on a 52cm snap. Next I get my PB for the bay a 45 snap, few flicks later and I equal it. Had a few sharks chase the some smaller snaps and we ended up tossing a live pike out, ended up with 2 whalers. My mate gets a just legal tailor and to finish the day we pick up a cuttlefish on the weedbeds while drifting around. Day just got better as it went on and we were still catching snap at 1230. Nice cruise home to be met by the QBFP, measured our catch, check the saftey gear and had a good chat. First time I have been pulled up, was good to see that they were also checking a charter boat that had pulled in at the same time, not just us weekend warriors (or mid week ones).

Some nice snapper there mate, I reckon this flood has got the bay fish more fired up than a year ago in those island areas

All on soft plastics, except for one shark that was on a live pike that we caught and the cuttlefish was on a squid jig.

Can't keep sharks over 1.5m
You eat them?
Some nice reddies there - well done - great fun on light gear.

Rules for sharks are 1.5m and 1 only using the the guide given to me by the QBFP Officer, only exceptions are Great White Shark, Grey Nurse Shark, Sawfish and Speartooth Shark.
We took the sharks for a feed, flake is great and I like knowing the young ones can enjoy a feed without the worry of bones. My fillet technique is not that bad but you never really know!
