Last time I was there the lagoon was all but gone and there was a steep drop off the Leisha track onto the sand at DI side.

Others may have been there recently.

You could ring the Rainbow Hotel and ask.... lots do ! :)

The lagoon is enormous now and can nearly be driven completely around, but very poor boating access to the ocean except maybe for tinnies on full tides. Watched some guys push a tinny about 80m out over shallows at the nthrn entry on Tuesday at low - stayed out 5 mins and came back in.
Is quite a bit of sand built up Phil where that drop off was and no probs getting around to D.I. or Rainbow. The lagoon will now slowly close up and gradually reduce in size and the whole process will start again.

benny took my tinny up there a week before easter 5 mtr tinny launched into the lagoon and went out the lagoon to the entry and went out through the waves. i got through at low tide best thing to do is drive down to the mouth were the deep water runs out into the ocean have a look at it before you even put the boat in the water. this will give you an idea on were to run out and if you have the luxury of a charplotter just follow your line out back in. was no dramas at all. lagoon is easy to launch into i didnt let my tyres down for the whole trip. so no hassels with getting bogged.
