Mud 22/4/11

Hi all

Fished Mud early hours in close for only a couple of Bream and 2 x Grassies 33 & 34.Got smoked a couple of times by what I would say were nice Grassies. That will teach me for thinking my leader was still ok. Also got a couple of the hardest fighting and fittest looking small Squire (28-32cm) I have ever had and a catfish about 50cm long.

Sweetys go hard and if u give em a chance your bricked. You wait until u hook that big catty from around there as i got him at 80cm and latest report it is 1.2 metres and it is the best fight ever. The squire i have hooked lately have been harder fighters than previous years. Cheers DD.....

Trick,
Cheech and chongs chaters fished the area hard, no need to go to heavy on leader, just got have rod in hand, joy in cup, and hang on...i went from light to heavy gear to go back to light, some of the best fish produced from mud have been on bream gear for me and cheech...here is one of our best;) ...
cheech caught it on a 8lbs?? or lighter, mid day, wrong tide...but we had plenty more good fish on light gear8-) .
My tip stay light, u might miss a few but u will get more opportunities to play;D
