Were first boat on the artificial this morning just before first light and had about 45min of solitary fishing before the next boat showed up (ah bliss:D )
First bait in the water landed the 2kg snapper and the last bait, about 5 hrs later saw some hurried untangling of the landing net for a first in my boat a parrot at 4kg.

Caught quite a few whipper snappers in between these two fish plus a big cobe that grabbed something small on the retrieve and swam right up beside the boat before realising it was hooked and taking off at warp speed and popping the 40 pound leader.

Had a concoction of bait and burley today (after some deep freeze excavations) with pilchards, slimeys, cooked prawns, sand crab shells, old mullet, chicken carcases and a pack of pink salmon thrown in the mix. The snap went to a pilly and the parrot a cooked prawn.

Was a nice relaxing morning out on the bay with great company and a steady trip back home in time for lunch.

Cheers

Marto.

Love the parrot, one of my favourite eating fish also. Sounds like a top day with something to show for it.
