With a few days off work and some time since I've been for a flick, decided to go for a bream session down noosa and kawana yesterday. Could definately tell that I hadn't thrown lures for a while, flat out hitting the side of a barn from 6foot away :-? .

Quick stop at the Noosa lock with a zilch for my efforts. Onwards to Kawana where hopefully the wind wouldn't be too bad so that I could get the platics near the boats and pontoons. Nearly to Kawana when the skies opened up and it bucketed down. Stopped at my usually cafe for bacon and eggs to wait out the rain. Rain gone by 7 so onto the boardwalk along Kawana.

Was initially throwing 4in power minnow. First cast was well short of its intended mark, 2nd was spot on right up against the pontoon. Let it sink then a good hit came but was unable to hook up. This happened probably another 8-10 times as I moved down the walkway. Lost a couple of jigs due to break offs and snags in the rocks. Decided to throw on a HB. First cast and a strong little bite which actually hooked up. Was a fiesty little cod. Some photos of him and back he went. Working my way down towards the motorway, got another 4 cod,1 missed bream and my PB moses on a HB ::) . Managed to lose three HBs due to break offs or snags. Rain came back so decided to move. Went down to Lake Currimundi to have a look and try some surface work. Only got 1 hit while there with no hookup. On the way back home stopped in at Kawana again and went the opposite direction along the walkway but rain stopped that. Last point of call before home was to see if there was anything at the noosa lock in the late arvo, nope squat again. Well I didn't get into the bream like I hoped and lost about $50 of gear but I still had a great day, think I might go back friday.

wow great work - all those cod land based. that provide optimisim for those among us who cant get into a boat - excellent.
pardon my ignorance, but what is an HB?

It's fish like that moses perch that really get people hooked on fishing, the rush of the hit, thr thrill as you first see it in the water and the elation of having it at your feet. breathtaking :p

HB = Hardbody (lure)

kawana bank definitely goes well for the "odd" cod :P. Plenty of trevs move in around there but there to hard to lift up and over the wall.

p.s is that a cranka ? how do you find they go on the coast im looking at ordering a few.

Was back down there yesterday and got absolutely nothing. I was hoping there would be some trevally seeing I was there at daylight.

It isn't a cranka. I don't know of any local stores to get the cranka from so i'm waiting until I want a few more lure before I order. Had that cheapy for months but was its first swim, went quite well. Only have it to use in areas where there is a high change of losing it to snags.

Cheers
