Headed to Caloundra this afternoon for a bit of a bream fish..had one hell of a week..needed to get away for a while.
Anyway, the water is still a nice brown colour but got about 10 small bream around the 20 to 23cm mark..one at 27 and one at 30. Looking good for the season ahead..get some cooler weather and some cleaner water and it should be a cracker.

004dam... I was visiting friends on Kawana Is and walking where they have the security entrance and wall across the canal, One side looks more tidal and cleaner water compared to the other side. Have never fished the place ??

Yes thats correct, one side is not tidal it does see some salt on a big high tide but thats about it from what i know. It always looks that Tea color in there rather off putting.

I actually fished the tidal side of kawana island today. Was meant to get the boat out but my bung went walk about>:(. Usually pick up alot of small cod/bream/trevs down there. Some good jacks of late too. I much prefer the jettis closer to the mouth though. Alot of good size trevally up that way.

To my surprise we didnt pick up any bream at all. We caught alot of flatties/grunter and i got a few bigeyes on surface lures.

Nothing like a session on the water to make up for a hard week at the office

I thought the title was going to lead into something about Friday night's game.
