Here is a few photos of the jacks we got on tuesday and wednesday night.
The two smaller ones were taken on live mullet and the large one on a live herring.
The 41 and 55 were released for another day but the 42 came home with the bream for a feed.
We also picked up 10 bream between 27-37cm all bream were on live or dead herring.
Allo fish were caught in the nerang river.;)
The baifish were thick with a full net of herring coming up in one cast after the nights fishing we froze 3kg of herring in snaplocks for future trips.:)
Sorry about the photo quality as all photos were taken on phone.:(

Cheers

If you concertrate your efforts around the bridges with live baits you should not have a problem connecting to 1 or 2 in a session.;)
And dont be scared to use big baits the two small jacks in the pics were caught on mullet in the 150-170mm range.
There is also the bonus of bycatch with bream, trevally, cod and flathead all being common bycatches.
If you can keep your baits right in the area of the line of light from the street lights you will find your catch increase a fair bit we also keep one under a float about a metre down in the same area.

Damn now that would be a welcome bycatch.
I have heard about them being caught down there but never caught one myself.
I was reading a thread on here the other day where they were saying they are becoming a regular catch in the coomera.(if your in the know)
would be nice to add another predator to the list to chase.

Cheers.

yep, any bridge in the nerang holds jacks at night, right up to the M1.

If youre in the lower reaches, watch out for sunken shopping trolleys near bridges. Ive snagged an anchor there a few times, its a real bugger of a spot, but thats what holds fish too.

Pretty sure he'd have just said the spot if he wanted people to know it.
