Hi Mick, are you getting these part numbers from a US shop?? if so they will be pre loaded with inland lake maps... beware as all Lowrance HDS units are now Geofenced so the GPS and charting will not work in the southern hemisphere even if you use a local chart card.

If you are chasing one I got mine in december from http://www.############.com.au cheapest local australian price I found at $2150 plus the transducer.. if you are getting a bit of gear you can also squeeze a bit more:D

yeah mate, I just found out about the USA geofencing. I was advised that the units would be restricted to english language only, and non metric units only.

apparently they also now have a flashing 'reminder' that the unit is being operated outside the 'intended area of use - the geofenced area

doesn't sound good
