River Session Sunday

I haven't managed a boat trip in about 3 or so months and took my ridgeback out to boggy creek for a walk to see the debris level and it looked good to me. Called the mate and hit the water around 7.30 on the incoming tide, went out to the mouth was abit choppy and the usual spot was taken over by works.

Decided to try some new spots, was drifting a few different places and tried a new spot, the baitfish were around few casts with the squirrel (these lures A1) and it screams out of the reel at a pace back towards the snag, wasn't sure what it was had a few runs, i was a little worried on the light gear, up pops a trev (42cm), few runs from the boat and managed to land it. Not much action from then on, few new spots and decide to try another spot, first cast of the SP and he gets a nice hit and after a few runs we get this nice bream (33cm) into the net.

Winds picked up, had a few knot bust offs and was ready for home, called it a day and headed back to the ramp by lunch.

Cracking Bream mate! Always good when the Trevs give your heart a little jolt on the bream gear, top fun.

+1 on the Squirrels..... was getting some good bream on them until i donated a couple to cod up at redcliffe :'(

Nice work mossy, the river looks pretty good and visibility is quiet good. The squirrel is a great lure especially when the colour your after is available ;D Cheers

Mick - Cheers, old mate was stoked when it hit the SP first drop. Oh they give you a jolt alright. LoL :) There was plenty of baitfish around always good to see, we thought we would at least jag a fish each for 2011.

Chief - Was surprised at visibility levels but it wasn't looking too bad, well as bad as I thought it would be. I have a nasty habit of giving my best lures away to the snags so I buy in bulk. Thanks again for the tips I think you could almost have a couple of R2S DF40's or squirrels and you can manage a few good fish out of that river.
