Hi,
Koala GPS currently have an Eagle Cuda 350 Smap on special for $175 plus $50 postage from the States for an all up total cost of $225.
This unit is a combined GPS/Sounder unit, 4 " monochrome , for less than you can buy a basic sounder, and would make an excellent back up unit. Will not accept any cards, but has a basic world map in it.
I was considering purchasing a hand held Garmin for backup, but have purchased one of these instead.
