went and picked up my new (second hand) boat ($450)
knowing it wasnt great but i was promised that it didnt leak, so i headed off on sunday morning with my old man to try our luck with some muddies.
went down to the coomera river headed around some mangroves and things, set all out pots, five in total, and decided to go for a bit of a fish not knowing any spots we just drifted around caught 1 little baby flatty and a catfish, all in good fun we putted around for a bit then my old man said that engine needs a tune lets check the pots reset the pots and go home to tune it then come back before the tide starts to get low.
as we got to the boat ramp the engine started to stall and died so we thought that we definatly had to service it (my old man is a 2 stroke mech by trade)
got home went and bought new spark plugs leads and condencer put it all back together and then engine still wouldnt start after hours of stuffing around we decided we had to row back out and get the pots (at low tide) after 2 1/2 hours of rowing and getting stuck nemours times on sand banks and mud bars, it was a really strong wind so we were trying to avoid the channel were it was at its worst.
a few of my pots had crabs (decent size) but they were all jens got 1 good size buck that i kept, definatly not worth rowing all that way haha
pulled the motor apart that night and it is dead.
