I've just ordered some online at Saiko fishing Tackle Online..
hopefully they'll arrive before the weekend so I can test them up at Tinaroo on barra and compare them..

Just got mine in the mail, they certainly look the part and can't wait to try them out on Tinaroo barra or even in the creeks around here. Be interesting to see how the hooks hold up..

They are brilliant.. I've even caught herring on mine not much bigger than the lure. (lip hooked 3 in a session).

Here's the result from a quick fish after work.. tides weren't the best (neap) so it wasn't as good as it has been the last week but we still managed 5 jacks, 2 barra and a jew.. smaller fish but most jacks were around the 40cm mark and the barra around the 50cm...
The fish were caught on the new Anchovy 95 model.. will give it a better test if we get up Tinaroo this weekend, that's when the fun really begins !!

I must say, they are holding up really well for a soft plastic based lure. I have been testing one of the new 95 models and it's now caught 22 barra and 16 jacks and it's pretty much unscathed.
There are a few teeth puncture holes in it near the tail from a jack and it's lost both it's eyes (the lure can only take so much chomping) but still swims like the day I first tied it on. Still holding perfect shape and colour too and the eyelets and wire running throughthe body still look like new... Very impressed at the resilience of the lure for something that has a soft body..
Now to try and throw it at a school of mackerel :)

Hey guys
Just after a quick question, what is the best colour for chasing barra and jacks/ anything that might hit it in the salt? Might be heading up the bush in a couple of weeks and want to order a couple. Also which is the best place to order them from saiko or fishhead?
Also are you attaching them to a wire trace or a leader too?
Thanks
Jared

Still trying to convince the Tackleworld shops to get them in here so we have a local supply because they now sell them in Bundy, Rocky, Mackay and Townsville I think, and of course Brisbane. So even if you do order them from elsewhere, could you please go into the Aumuller St shop and ask them to get some in. The more of us that hassle them, they might actually do it :)
Peter at Saiko should be able to fix you up though, and quick postage. Fishhead is probably fine too but haven't dealt with them yet.
Haven't really found the fish care much about the colours. I've used the pale colours for most of my fishing with barra and jacks alike smashing them up. I haven't been using them with wire trace at all, I find 60lb Jinkai or something similar to be enough to handle most fish. Just make sure you use a loop knot to get the full action out of the lure.
