dont laugh cause i have a stttuter...

To all the crabing experts, is there a depth of water where you are likely to get more crabs or doesnt that matter, if you had a long enough rope you could drop ya pot in the middle of the river and still get em??

mate it all depends, i find if there is no rain about for a while they are right up the creeks and if there is heaps of rain they will be in the middle of the river in the channels to escape the fresh

with all the fresh around i would be out the mouth of the rivers and creeks on the flats on the bigger tides or just on the dropoffs of the flats.i normally crab reasonable close to the bank... but somtimes i will just throw 1 pot in the middle and see what happins

I'd go with all of the above. When The rain is shy, head right up into the creek mouth's and small tidal run off creeks. I've often scored well in these areas.
Look for that really sloppy slushy mud, the kind've stuff that would oose through glass the muddies love to burrow in this stuff.
When it's been overly wet for a while, and the rivers turn chocolate. Head for your deeper water channels, deep holes just cleaner water in general.
You don't always need deep water. On some occasions I've been stuned by some stud crabs in water just about knee deep.
Play it safe spread your pot count two ways. Half way up in the creek's and the other, well just sink them in the deeper water.
Best of luck.
Cheers
