Are they legal in QLD - I had a feeling they were not?

We used wizard boxes, they pushed the axle forward so the 35's would fit better.

i,m not sure , but seeing as i now have these bigger tyres i need to lift it so a 3 in lift is what i,m after
GBC , did you have to cut anything away to make them fit???

Nope, definately illegal. As all the good gear always is. I got mine from superior. But would be easy as to make if your a qaulified welded and access to a laser cutter. They are only spaced 25mm forward to bring the front axle back to standard. I dont know anyone anymore with a patrol with drop box's. But if you get stuck. Come around with some skissors, sticky tape and cardboard ;).
$310 for first set. And $200 for second pair delivered.

I looked at getting them for my next lift in my GU Ute but I heard you need to modify chasis slightly to fit them. I decided to go Superior radius arms. Speak to BurleyGU on here. He just got rid of a ute with drop boces and opted for new arms this time.

I thought they were Ben. I suppose it depends on what risk you are willing to take with your insurance. To my mind that is a risk too far. There are plenty of very well lifted GU's around without drop boxes. My brother lifts them and other makes for a living and has some great examples in his clientel.

Drop box's or castor drop arms. Either of them are illegal. But drop box's are waaayyy better. Just make sure your settled spring height is 4.5" lifted over standard for them to work perfectly.

I just edited my post - I had meant to say that there were plenty of well lifted GU's around WITHOUT drop boxes.

Yep, a Gu with a gen 3. The dynamics of drop arms and drop box's are different. Without getting a 3 link calcultor out. Imagine your lower arms from the diff bush to the chassi bush. That angle is the arrow of force. Its low when at standard height (If you continued the line of force through it almost touches the top of the rear tyre). But when lifted and aftermarket drop arms, the angle changes and rises up high. It affects all kinds of things antisqaut etc. Drop box's take that angle/forces back to standard. It means less body roll, more control and drives over obsticles/4x4ing easier. Thats also why superior do the rear long arm kits which are 300mm longer. Takes the rear back close to standard aswell, again less body roll better 4x4ing and forces.
I know thats getting a bit high tech. But for $1000 you can get drop box's with 1 superior superflex arm which will give it awsome capabilities and still drive well. If you do a high steer and lift your panhard rod mount. Everything in the front in back standard and will drive perfectly.
