I'm going over for a vacation over xmas and want to chase blue fin tuna, kingies or snapper on a charter.
Can anyone recommend one.
Location does not matter as we will be campervanning it.
cheers

as you say kingies, snapper. dosent realy matter as long as i catch something decent. kk fishing charters say they motor out for 20 mins then drift back in fishing then when it shallows out they check there cray pots. sounds like a good feed to me

I have posted same request today. I am going in March 2011 and looking for charter options. I'll keep an eye out for responses to your request but would love to hear what you decide on and how you got on. I did go out on a half day trip a year ago out of Kaikora and we caught a lot of what they call sea perch which are a small (up to 40cm) red fish in up to 40m of water approx 2 klm off the coast. The skipper also checked his cray pots and we took home some crays and a heap of perch fillets. They were great eating and for 3 people we had 2 meals. On next trip I am looking for something similar to you, a full day out chasing bigger fish like snapper, kingies etc. I am not sure if you have been to NZ before but I can recommend Kaikora as it is a beautiful place and I cant remember the name of the charter but they were recommended by the Top 10 caravan park there. Good luck.
