Hi guys I’m heading over to awoonga this Saturday
I’ve been over to the dam 11 times now and only had 2 semi hook-ups and some pretty convincing hits . BUT STILL NO BARRA
i would love any tips on how the Dam has been fishing or how it is going to be fishing this Saturday

In my tackle box
Slic rigs 110 130 (with some stinger hooks )
Hollow bellies
Frogs
B52 gold and silver
Classic barra many colours
List goes on
Weather is :
Possible showers
Wind: SE light
Temp max 27*
Would love a tag along tour of the dam if anyone is heading out on Saturday
I’m getting disparate willing:o to give a Box of BEER for a tag along tour
I really want to nail a BARRA
i see all the photos and hear all the stories and they just rub salt in the wounds
:'(

Good luck with your trip as we won't be up there till Wed 10th - 14th Nov. Our trip has shrunk a little, back to three boats going. I have had good reports from my brother inlaw up there 3 weeks ago with a 120cm and then another mate up there begining of this week and at time of speaking had a 98cm and a 102cm.
cheers Stevo.

Gday mate.Do yourself a favour and pay one of the LOCAL guides to show you around.Worth every cent. Will learn alot in one session if you keep eyes and ears open. And have a great chance at catching one also.;D

Squidda is right.
If you are having trouble getting the barra fishing sorted, fish with a guide for a charter. Not saying anyone shouldnt show you around, and I hope that happens! ....but you will learn more in a 6 hr charter than you will figure out in many trips.
My second trip to Awoonga back four years ago was with Johnny Mitchell, and resulted in a 98cm fish. I have never had a donut there since!
Others may have different ideas but thats my personal experience.
When you add up all the money you spend on many trips with boating, fishing tackle, fuel, accom etc, a charter is a small investment compared, but an investment on the pointy end which will help you connect with fish and help you on the journey.
I have used guides in many locations here in Aussie and overseas and think its a great experience and tremendous value.
All the best

The boys are right FFB - get a guide........ with 11 trips under your belt and still struggling , you must be off the track somewhere.
Well done on the Wuruma barra8-)
