Iam hoping to head over to Tangalooma/Curtin reef Saturday afternoon for an overnighter and then out past the Cape for a fish early Sunday morning.
Whats the best way to get from Tanga to out past the Cape ?
Next question is should I head to Flinders early for a troll, or should I head to Tempest for a bottom bash then back to Flinders for a troll on the way back. Never been out that way so a bit of information would be great.
Cheers

I will be leaving from scarbs. Not sure if tonights a goer now, remembered I have to fix the transducer for the sounder, but am thinking ill quickly install the old sounder for the time being.
Best way up to the cape is through the shipping channel. There are wayy too many shoals and shallows up that way and you get quite large pressure waves if not in the channel. Should be a good weekend for it though by the looks of things.

VMR social barbeque tonight, I know what I am doing. Cheap food and drinks :P
I am going to try to get out in the new trailer sailer tomorrow and sunday. Hoping its good enough weather to have a poke around out the front of moreton and maybe take a look at tempest. If I make it out, I will keep an eye out for AF stickers!
One thing is for sure, because I am planning to head out in a sail boat, the weather will suit you all! If I was to take the polycraft out, would be 15knot minimum and 5m seas in moreton bay!
Have fun out there!

Haha mate, some of us who seem wierd to their families who dont know where there joy of boating and fishing come from, and never had the guidance required, have to learn the hard way haha
I can remember a time where I would just point the boat at a northern point of moreton from scarborough, and wonder why I am getting waves from 3 different direction...... :o Silly I know.
So yes, you have probably seen from a few of my posts, I learned the hard way lol
I get out there with ease now though :) Been out there a couple of times using advise from these forums (Which was the exact advise I shared in your quoted message).
Heading out early sunday morning!! 5knts in the morning 10knts in the afternoon. Should be good.
