Hi all, its coming into summer and im looking at upgrading my spin outfit. for years i've been using a tss4 and a live fibre 8 foot RLF20 10-15kg. It has been a top setup but the old tss4 has since been retired and the live fibre is getting a bit old in the tooth also. So to get to the point , i've replace the tss4 with a stella sw 10000, but im not sure what rod im going to match it too.

requirements are

1. has to balance with stella sw 10000
2. has to throw 35g - 60 g lures (primarly 40g raiders)
3. has to be at least 7'6 if not 8 foot (casting distance)

I've noticed a couple

New T-Curve Revolution 7'6 model, also t-curve bluewater models. I'm also open to blanks as i know a good rod builder ;D

Thanks in advance

Jas

p.s i'll run either 20lb mono or 30lb braid.

Loomis pro blue in the 8ft would be nice, I have a pro blue 7ft and t-curve saltwater spin 5 -10 and both are nice. But my best rod for spinning is an old albagraph built by gary howard called a moreton bay spin. Still as good if not better than anything else i have used. I would talk to gary howard as this style of fishing is something he is into.

I'm looking for a very similar setup at the moment too only i'll be using a stradic 8000. Was at Jones's yesterday checking out rods and have narrowed it down to 3 that are quite similar. T-Curve King Mack, a Gary Howard and a nitro ( don't remember the models). They're all very simillar in length but the GH felt by far the best. It's a $100 premium over the T but it is one very sexy rod. Definately worth a look.

G'day mate!

I've got a Saltiga 80tn that balances my sw 10000 perfectly.

At 8ft and PE 4-6 I intend to throw hardbodies at some North coast longtails from the rocks next year.

They are not cheap, but I picked mine up almost half price on the bay.

Regards, Rob.

Thanks Rob, the saltiga certainly sounds great on paper.

The calstar would be very good value esp with the $ atm, just so hard to decide on a a blank.. 30g - 100g is spot on for what im looking for.
