G'day.

I'm still trying to work out how to replace my all time favourite rod - the 8.5 foot graphcast spin rod - that was stolen not so long ago.

I used this rod in boats and from the shore, casting slugs between 20 and 65g. I definitely prefer the extra foot or so in length (compared with a 7 footer obviously).

Any advice on equivalent rods being used by members would be much appreciated.

cheers.

Jonathan.

Hi Jonathan,
Have you thought about building one yourself? I did a quick search and the Graphcast blanks are available, but I cant seem to find the completed rods for sale anywhere.
If you didnt want to build it yourself maybe someone on the rod building forum could help you out.
Just an idea hey.

my favourite in the 8' is the rlf20 live fibre. 8-10kg matched up with the good old TSS-4. I have used it for years for longtails and mackerel. Suits me fine

well fellas, I took your advice and picked up an RLf20 on the way home on my birthday for $175.

Hopefully I'll post some photos over the months ahead of various captures.

regards.
