Barra size?

Hey all,
Watched a I FISH program the other day where at the start they said barra grow up to 1.8 meters in length and thought if this could be true?

About 47 years ago when I was in Broome, there was a fish trap on the beach by the side of the old jetty and when the tide went out one day the pro fisho asked me to help him put a barra on the beck of his ute. The barra was 6 ft long.

there has been 140cm fish caught in our dams so i dont see why they couldnt get to that size as long as food and enviroment was there for them

heard on the abc fishing show a report of a 158 caught up north in creek last week but of course no photo's
