Hi all, have been searching the net for this and have not been able to find the angle from the main land out to sea or even better gps marks.
Thanks

Tim, i take it you are concerned about fishing in NSW waters?
if so ring the DPI and fisheries for NSW and ask them for the boundary gps marks, they must have them to police it, or hey buy a fishing permit and save your time.

the state border extends on the same line as it is on land, but only for 3 nautical miles. all waters outside of the 3 mile limit become federal waters. this is how i understand it but if im wrong, ill soon find out im sure

Not sure about that mate. I did find a website a map with no marks that shows about 30 degree ne about 3nm and the heads due east way out. These are the terriotory waters for queeensland nsw etc.
Will be doing the ring around and will be checking out the flare issue.

Gary,
That's the benefit of having registered the boat in Tassie first - para flares required down there as well.
I was only thinking about this State boarder issue the other day when I was catching snapper. Bag limits and size limits are completely different for the same breeding stock of fish.

Yeh Brett,
Funny how ypu can catch fish one side of the border but are bound by the rules of the other side and completely different rules... no wonder the Tweed ramps are busy in winter :P
not so much this winter tho.
Was talking to one of my customer/charter boat company owners today and he was sayin how the current has been non existent since March... WTF??

Hey Tim;
On the 'Gold Coast Point Lookout - Kingscliff' Sunmap offshore Fishing it shows a line extending from Point Danger light out at about 30degrees north east.
On the chart the line crosses, 28.09S and 153.35E and again at 28.05 S and 153.44 East
So draw a line back through those two points and you should get back to Point Danger and there you are!
Cheers
