So much good info from so many great people. I spend a lot of time reading here and hope to start contributing usefully in the near future.
I would like to be able to add my 'thanks' to many posts but don't know how... so how does one 'thank this poster' ?? Is there a button or tag?

On the bottom righthand corner of their post are a few buttons - Thanks, Quote, Multi Quote icon and a quick reply icon. Press the 'Thanks' button and the job is done.

I reckon that the "Thanks" button is a great feature on this site.
To thank someone on other sites that I visit, you have to write a reply but a simple "thanks" reply is not adding any new info that would benefit others seeing it so it can waste people's time to just read a stack of thank-yous. The button is much better.

Personally I don't think the thanks tally should be with someone little dodad that you see when-ever a post is made by them....You know the tally under where it says when they joined and where they're from.
Yeah, fair enough seeing them if you go into their profile but leave it off (like their post totals) in the threads.
Seeing them under a post is good though. It gives an indication on others thoughts and ideas.

If I feel the need to thank someone I will thank them in a post or by PM...a bit more personal than just clicking on a button.
