I am looking at upgrading my current reel on my Tcurve Deep Jig 400 OH.
The new Accurate Boss BX series look great and i am thinking of buying one.
I will be using the combo for bottom bashing and jigging for red emperor, cobia, YTK (all the big things) and plan on running 80lb braid.
The question is what size boss reel to i get? Also would you suggest the narrow versions or even the narrow, narrow?
Any help would be great as i have no idea about the sizing of these.

I had a torsa 20 on a tcurve 400 and was a good fit. I found the ramp was too big on the accurate once over 10kg or so

Thanks gents....the feedback is much appreciated.
Krazy...what sort of fishing do you do with the torsa and what pound line are you runnung? As this is the only other reel that compares in my oppinion.

I used it for bottom fishing reds 160ft and trout around 50ft, also use it for jigging. I am running 80lb line I have it on a tcurve but have changed to a monster mesh. The torsa came up with more drag, smoother and no ramp vs the others

I had a Boss 665 for 5 years, and although I liked the reel it had a few issues which we had trouble fixing, it involves the 'cast control knob' which although is there for light drag settings for casting does affect the higher drag settings used in jigging, anything over 8kg of drag actually. The models without the 'Cast Control' have no such issues.
The Torsa is a great reel, but my preference is the Talica 16 ll, 100grms lighter than the Torsa, carries 430m of 80 lb Braid and has heaps of Drag :) ,

yep I would look closely at the Talica but was not available when I got my torsa, either way I have had the torsa up to 22kg drag and smooth over that I kept breaking the leades or knots during testing but 22kg is enought for me.

Hi megalongzilli,
Torsa 16N / Tcurve 400 and a lever drag Saltist 30 on the heaviest Monster Mesh are my weapons of choice for Reds up here in Cooktown.
Both great combos, the Daiwa is lighter to hold and I prefer it for smaller fish to 10 kilos (and has a higher retrieve) however the Torsa's drag is so silky smooth it is a joy to use (and better on my back) pulling big fish from our deeper grounds (still shallow compared to most red grounds)
Cheers,

Thanks Nick,
I think i have been convinced to go with the torsa. Seems like everyone rates it highly.

I also have the torsa 16 N on my 400 deep jig.
Truly comfortable combo and I use it for both jigging and bottom work.
I have gone a little lighter and use 50lb varivas depth marked braid and am extremely happy with the result.
Go the torsa though , you'll love it
