first time surf fishing

was just wondering what length rod would be suited to fishing double island point. i have a couple of 10ft rods will these be ok or do i need something longer.

You could get away with a 10 footer if fishing for bream, whiting and dart as long as the conditions were fairly calm, but in my opinion a 12 to 13 footer would be far better for tailor or where fishing in rougher conditions or where you simply need to cast further.

I always use a 14 foot alvey. Just always have and always will. Massive cast and good torque if you get something bigger. And tough as nails. Mine is dropped in the salty stuff everytime I go out and it's great condition. Worth every cent IMO
