bought some clearence sale jigheads

bought the whole two packs left of nitro jigheads 1/4 2/0 hooks in kmart today! bargain for 3 bucks a pack.


Not sure about the 1/4 size though i fish in 1m or less or flattys. Is it safe to take of some of the weight or does it weaken the hook in some way. ( only wanted to clip the front a bit) as i thought it may of been a bit heavy. or is 1/4 fine for that depth

Not an expert by any means hey, but I would reckon it would be ok to clip it off. Just try and maintain the lines of the jig head as best you can so you dont effect the action much. Wouldnt use heat tho.

I cant see a problem mate i do it all the time with the bigger sizes for barra and jacks,etc and have never had one break so i couldnt see a lizard snapping one as snodger said tho try to keep your cuts even so the weight is distributed evenly both sides.

mate 1/4 is fine really, its my most used of the weights I have. chuck on some 4" grubs and you'll be laughing.

yep agree with mossy with respect to flathead. you cant go too light as this will effect your casting distance which limits your fishing area so 1/4 oz is fine in most cases imo.
