hi guys i am going to airlie beach for the first time in 2 weeks.
am going on a charter on the second day (yay!) but one day of fishing up there will not be enough. so i am taking a couple of rods (flick stick and a 15kg spinning poppering). Would anyone please be able to advise me on where i could maybe go for a fish and pick up something interesting? maybe a spot off the rocks where a few gts hang? or a shore based reef for a trout? i am landbased but any ideas would be appreciated.
or any good ideas for a shore based spearfish?
Also are there many green zones and stuff up there for me to worry about?

Thanks tyson

Hi tyson, just head down to abel point marina and fish off the corner of the rock wall towards the leads, theres allsorts there....
also try shute harbour, fish off the pontoon there or try and get onto one of the warfs just on dark. there are busses down there every 30 mins...
better if you have a cast net you can get some live bait!
you could even try by the yacht club on the last of the flood.
also by VMR,
there are lots of places up here to wet a line mate its great!
