Morning all,

Yesterday I bought a yabby pump to pump yabbies, because we had quite a successful morning a fortnight ago with the whiting and flathead.

My question is does anyone here pump them around Victoria Point or Redland Bay, and does any one particular spot produce any better results tan any other.

My first thoughts were out the front at Point Halloran.

Is there any way that they could be preserved to help last a little longer?. My plan is to pump them on the afternoon low, and fish the incoming tide the following morning.

Thanks
Scott

If you've got a boat, eastern side of Garden island is thick with yabbies

I have never had any problems keeping yabbies alive. in fact, i have had them jump out of the bucket and end up in the bottom of the tinnie where they found their way to a tiny puddle of filthy water where they lived for a day or two.

Put them in a bucket of water and they'll easily last overnight. Put on an air stone if you wish. If you don;t have an air stone you shodul try and put them in a container which has a large water surface area (fish box, broccoli box) this will help the water stay oxygenated.
