Hi all.
I just had a play around with my new video editing software and chose this catch to do it with. What it does show is just how tough T-curves are!!
Although I do high stick it a bit in the video you will notice when the shark runs I quickly lower the rod towards it and the only time drag is taken by the shark is when the rod is lowered at a good angle for maximum rod strength.

When you hook large fish/sharks this is one technique to use as long as you're careful and the fish does not take a sudden run at the wrong time. If you have its head turned you should be right and usually reserve it for the end of a fight. The other option is short sharp rod movements within a safer range but with Braid I'm not a fan of that as it puts a lot of undue stress on the hook and could cause it to pull.

Interested to hear others thoughts on their approach to cathing large beasts like this. (I estimate this shark to be around 3.5 metres.
