Catalina 6500 combo

Hey

Has anybody fished the catalina 6500 ? are the rods any good?
Have heard the reels are fairly similar to the saltiga minus a few bearings
and lower quality gearing.

havent fished it yet but just bought a 6500 for jigging myself. i have a 4500 and like it a lot.

Are you looking at the combo from rayannes in SA ? if i had seen that before i had ordered another rod i would have gone that option. Cheap enough and good enough for me i rekon.

Nar Mate buying a second hand one of a bloke over east, heard good stories about them so hopefully it will preform.

Yeah it will mate. They are a top reel and won't let you down. The rods are pretty good too if you go that way, probably better than the monster mesh rods from what I'm hearing from the local tackle guys up this way.

Are you bottom bouncing/jigging?

Yeah mate mostly jigging/bottom bouncing maybe a little bit of popping from time to time.
