well, with the weather looking crappy for the weekend and
the boat not going to get out i thought id see how everybody else is doing.

i am starting to get fired up and ready for hopefully some nice snappa to bless
the deck shortly. winter is nearly on us and things should be starting to happen? i hope for a few more snappa this year as we had it a bit harder last year.

i fished the moon last week for what i thought should have been prime time
but was some of the most unproductive time i have had of late. ??

maybe i have snappa fever as i seem to be dribbling on all the time ?????

whats all the offshore boys up to ??

cheers dale

Good Post Dale.

we fished last week Tue through to Lunch thurs wide of D/I. Current was running hard on the shelf for most of the week

Tuesday and wed fished better then thursday and we found good fish from reds through to snapper. A heap of Trag with the run up to the full moon at night.

They were all short bite periods. Some monster pearlies where out wide but hard work with strong cuurent even with deck winches.

Spoke with a mate on returned who fished just north of Wide Cal for good snapper very early Wednesday morning.

The fish are patchy at present which is the norm.

Didn't fish this week as it was the back of the full moon.

thanks for that skipper, at least you found some fish.
i personally would prefer to fish this week on the back of the moon
as i have had a couple trips not that flash right on the moon now.

i guess thats fishing for you and why we keep going back as its the
thrill of the chase!! thanks for the reply
cheers dale

Yeah Dale, a tad early for the snaps maybe.

I fished Wednesday out of Moobar and the water was green. not good.

Pro's reckon it was their best Spanish season for 15 years.

Lots of rain etc beginning last year and this should be a bumper snap season, once the water temp drops.

I have some nice ground off Caloundra way that will see me anchored pre dusk over winter.

Cheers LP

Bit hard to know at the moment isn't it?

I'm as keen as you must be to find them off Moreton or Southport and was seriously considering it with a smallish swell predicted... But 20+ knot winds will put some serious chop on top, I already bashed myself around last weekend for very little, I think I'll wait too.
