Went out in the boat today, left Spinnaker sound at 6ish and headed to the yellow marker at the mouth of Ningi creek, but with no luck. So we headed over to White Patch and straight away I landed a small squire and thought my luck was about to change. Saw plenty of fish on the sounder but was not able to land them.
I was using mullet flesh and squid.
Has anyone had much luck lately out there?
Cheers
Michael

Depends on what you are after mate.
There are a lot of whiting around.
Grab some fresh live worms from the bait shop at Ningi on your way.
Not cheap, but they will improve your catch rate.

I grew up fishing Bribie Is, in particular white patch. My favoured bait for the passage is fresh yabbies. Plenty of flats to pump on the incoming tide. Fish whitepatch flats on the incoming and an hour after the top of the tide and some great fish still found on the drop off.
Good luck
