Headed to a gutter on Southern Goldie last night on the hunt for Tailor (tx Childers for the tip-off)
Just at sunset I had a nice take, and brought in a 36cm sea-bream. He took a whole pillie and swallowed the 6/0 Mustad :)

All went quiet, then 15 minutes later I was on and the fish was peeling line off with solid, slow runs. As I got him to the shorebreak, he would run off again. This continued for about 15minutes until I finally landed my PB shovelnose of 1490mm (18.5kg) I do not take my camera to the beach, and as I do not eat shovelnose he was released without a photo.

An hour later I had caught a few more small shovelnose, and 3 small flatties.
The tailor were not around at all.
On my last cast I got a crow's nest (the joys of using o/head reels) and the bait landed 10mtr in front of me. I had just undone the nest when the slack was taken out of the line, and i was on again!!
A few cranks on the 6:1 ratio'd Daiwa and there was a 94cm Flattie on the beach .... another PB. As I do not eat flathead either - he was released without a photo as well.

So in all I did not get what I went for - but came home pretty pleased with the night's session.

Unlucky about the tailor, I'm having trouble finding them too. Good work on the two PBs though, I'm still after a big flattie.

Cheers,
Kaidon
