Heading over to Amity point (by boat) on Friday to stay in a house there and was going to fish maybe the Harry Atkinson on friday night, I don't know this area (bay) very well so is navigating at night a drama from Amity or are there better options closer. Just looking for a bit of local knowledge please. Our boat is 5.5m Alison

I would say that Atkinsons might be a bit tricky to nav at night from Amity. I am quite familiar with Harry's but I would have thought there were plenty of better places between there and Amity

south west rocks at Peel Island. From AMity down the rainbow channel and across the southern side of peel, easy navigation.

G'day

Why not just sit out the front of the bungalows on the rubble? Plenty of great catches have occurred here over the years

That doesn't sound silly either, I'm from Runaway bay and often I go out chasing mangrove jack in all sorts of area's with little success, and my neighbour threw a line in off the back of his pontoon with a piece of meat and caught 2 jacks 43cm and 47cm. :-[

Yeah if you not familiar with the area don't do it.Drop the boat in and travel back towards Dunwich until you get to the Welsby Light,Green, and do some drifts on an outgoin tide back along the drop off.Should see you get connected to something more than likely some Bullies.

Just back from the shop, towards the ramp, there is a grass lane,I was there before easter and pulled a couple of nice moses perch from the bank. You only need a number 2 or 3 sinker fished on top of two ganged 1/O's with a hardyhead for bait at the turn of the tide.Or a whole pilly about a meter under a water bomb balloon if any mackeral around drifting along in the tinnie.Jim

Harries is fairly easy to nav at night through the rous channel, if not try around the welsby light in rainbow, or the eastern side of rainbow down towards myora light, just watch the green zone around myora.
Other wise try the rock wall at amity or around the red marking the top of wallen wallen banks.
Peel is also fairly easy to get too, you wont hit anything unles your stray inside the greens on the right hand side heading down.
