Got to the boat ramp around 5am and launched to a great day of weather ahead and got to my spot just as the sun was on its way up. Was fishing the SP's with my mate for while it went abit quiet so I though why not try a HB from the box.

Put on the trusty Jackall Chubby and let her rip up towards the rocks, wasn't too sure of the movements so just tried what I had heard and kept the variety alot on this forum say don't be afraid to let it sit, so I did for a little then bang it took off zinnnnnnngggg was pretty excited my first fish on HB's.. a little bit of patience and slowly but surel got up the cod that had smashed the jackall. Got it in the boat and seen it had smashed the trebble flat and was just holding on.

A few more drifts, then off to another spot and we get a bit interest from the bream on the pylons a few keepers most around the 24 - 29cm mark kept 2 for dinner and the rest went back. I got my few on a vibe too which I as pretty excited about my first vibe fish to. LoL

A few photo's as this is all i had on my camera.

Great cod mate - you get a measure? Looks in the 40's or low 50's, you did well.

The hooks on the Jackalls are pretty ordinary on anything but small bream, so if you don't already you might want a set of Owner ST66's (size 12 or 14)

Mick.

Great stuff mossy, Those latest jackall chubbie trebles are absolute crap. I wouldn't even bother using them now with out changing the hooks straight up.

cheers guys it was nice to land a good sized cod on my first HB caught fish, she ran like buggery but pulled up with abit of care. Yep, changed over the hooks on my other chubby too... now all owner hooks and split rings. I agree the hooks on the jackalls are rubbish.
tight lines!

woops forgot to say the cod went at around 50cm give or take half a cm.... nice!

Jesse148 pretty sure I ran past you guys near the pylons just down from the warfs.
