This is a report of sorts, but also a big thankyou to Trev Burgess.
3 brothers who I grew up with wanted to take their Dad on a fishing trip. He'd had a bit of a rough time health wise over the past few years, so they wanted to get him up to Awoonga and onto some barra.
Them and a couple of other mates flew up to the Sunny coast from NSW and Vicco. They had the house boat hired with it's tender, and hired another tinnie as well. I was supposed to come along with my boat, which is a lot better set-up for impoundment fishing. But unfortunately couldn't make it due to a combination of factors.
They wanted to get their dad out for a day or 2 with one of the guides, but they were all busy. On the off chance I contacted Trev to see if he could drop by the houseboat and see them. Give them a heads up on the fishing, and maybe take the old boy out for a blast in the Skeeter.
Well, anyone that knows Trev, knows that he doesn't do things by halves. He spent a bunch of time with them, taking them all out for a fish in his boat. Put all bar 1 of them onto fish, on a dam that is fairly tough at the moment. And genenrally showed them a great time.
They drove back down on Tues, and stayed at my place o'night awaiting their flights home the next day. The beers and stories flowed, and you couldn't have wiped the smiles off their faces with cricket bats.
I've already thanked Trev a bunch of times over the phone. But I wanted to share the story and a few pics that the boys have already sent me.
